Trump made a direct path toward Tucker Carlson at the RNC, bypassing any greeting for his VP pick, JD Vance.

Former President Donald Trump bypassed greeting his vice-presidential pick, Sen. JD Vance (Ohio), at the Republican National Convention on Monday, opting instead to first shake hands with right-wing media personality Tucker Carlson. Trump, sporting a white bandage over his right ear injured during an attempted assassination at a recent rally, entered the Milwaukee venue to cheers from supporters. He proceeded emotional toward his seat, where Carlson, seated next to GOP Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, was the first person he greeted. Eventually, Trump took his place beside Vance.



Carlson, along with Elon Musk and tech investor David Sacks, had advocated for Vance as Trump's running mate, as reported by Axios. Trump had announced Vance's selection earlier on his Truth Social platform, describing him as the most suitable candidate for the role. Carlson, known for his staunch support of Trump and now hosting a social media talk show post his departure from Fox News, is slated to address the RNC audience this week.



Despite past criticisms of Trump, including private messages revealed during the Dominion Voting Systems' lawsuit against Fox News, where Carlson expressed strong negative sentiments towards the former president, Carlson has emerged as a vocal ally in recent times....See More
