Wild Thang clinches victory in the 2024 'World's Ugliest Dog' competition.

In Petaluma, California, perseverance paid off for Wild Thang, who secured the top spot at the 2024 World's Ugliest Dog competition held at the Sonoma Marin County Fair on Friday.

Competing for the fourth time, the 8-year-old Pekingese had previously placed second three times before finally capturing the crown.

Following closely behind was Rome, a 14-year-old pug, who earned the runner-up title along with the People's Choice award.

According to Rome's owner Michelle Grady, "Rome is an incredible companion. He's so personable and really everyone's favorite."

This year's event featured a total of eight contestants, with the winner receiving a trophy and a $5,000 prize.
